Mr. Imanishi left Japan during the Japanese bubble economy in the late 1980's when Japan was the No. 1 economic power in the world.
When MItsubishi-Jisho bought over Rockfeller building which was New York City's symbolic building, the Americans were seriously afraid of being taken over by the Japanese.
While the world recognised Japan as No. 1, Mr. Imanishi felt that there could be serious threat for the Japanese nation at that time so he went to study abroad in Perth, Western Australia in 1988. He met many Asian students over there
and noticed that there was a huge gap between Western and Asian culture.
After completing his studies, in the beginning of 1990, he came to Kuala Lumpur and witnessed dynamic progress in Malaysia under the leadership of Tun Dr. Mahathir. The "Look East Policy" made him recall his awareness in Australia.
He started out as a Japanese Language Teacher in Kuala Lumpur and was later promoted to being The
Principal of that language school. The number of students increased fivefold within a year
under his management.
After some time, he was headhunted by a legal firm and assumed the position of a Legal Advisor to Japanese firms. He organised visits from several groups of Japanese official delegates to Malaysia such as Electronics Industry Association of Japan and Japan Patent Office. Later he set up his own firm to support Japanese corporate companies and offer consultation to assist them to settle their businesses here in Malaysia.
During this period, he successfully managed 6 different businesses at the same time. However, throughout the years overloaded work and pressure took a toll on his health so he decided to close down some of his businesses and sold them at the end of 1996.
Then he decided to go back to Japan. During this period, he managed to avoid the 1997 South-East Asian
economic crisis which may or may not be a coincidence. He did a lot of research and practice during his 6 years' stay in Japan.
What was happening in Japan during that time was the onset of internet and marketing revolution.
Japanese IT business had begun to flourish and new marketing technology from the United States was introduced into Japan at the same time. Mr. Imanishi was interested in this new trend and seriously monitored and practised it as a Marketing Manager for an organic food company.
When Japan entered into the 21st century, another trend had begun. There were Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), coaching, and other personal developments. He took up some serious training and successfully received his license as a Career Development Advisor and Brain Development Trainer in 2001 and 2002 respectively.
Then he returned to KL in 2003 and set up JMO NETWORK SDN. BHD. His passion is to introduce those new trend, knowledge and skills into Malaysia and other countries.
The United States has been leading the business trend in the world. However, there are some pros and cons existing in this one way trend, especially in Asian countries.
Japan is a unique country that absorbs Western technology into Asian culture. In fact, many international companies had integrated their business models in Japan before they grow their global business all over the world. Mr. Imanishi is very keen to introduce the unique knowledge and skills of the new world trend into Asian culture.
Until now, he has successfully advised and offered consultation to more than 100 companies using the latest marketing knowledge and skills.
